A bright and refreshing rosé expertly crafted by Domaine Guillerault-Fargette and composed from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the distinct Caillottes soil of the region. It is this soil, consisting of small rocks or gravel with a high portion of limestone, that gives the wines of Sancerre their freshness and nerve.
In 1971, Jacques and Geneviève Guillerault created Domaine des Caves du Prieuré in an 18th century winery located in the village of Crézancy. Since 1995, their son Gilles has presided over the estate with his brother-in-law Sébastien Fargette.
Guillerault and Fargette are committed to sustainable viticulture. Natural grasses are grown between the rows and the soils are worked manually, without the use of herbicides or pesticides. Each year, the harvest is carefully sorted before being pressed and the juice is allowed to settle by gravity before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. A period of aging then follows before the wine is bottled.
Guillerault-Fargette Sancerre Rosé is best served with salads, light chicken and tapas dishes.
