Our legal obligations
We follow the Licensing Act 2003 and its objectives, including protecting children from harm. Alcohol must not be sold to anyone under 18. This applies to online orders and deliveries. GOV.UK -
No proxy sales
It is illegal to purchase alcohol on behalf of someone under 18. Orders suspected of proxy purchasing will be cancelled. GOV.UK -
Refusals, cancellations and refunds
a) We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order where age cannot be verified or where we believe this policy would be breached.
b) Where alcohol is removed from an order for verification reasons, we will offer a refund for the alcohol portion or a suitable non-alcohol substitute. -
Responsible marketing and content standards
a) We market alcohol responsibly and never target under-18s.
b) Our naming, packaging and promotions are designed in line with the Portman Group Codes of Practice and the UK advertising rules for alcohol. Our content will not encourage irresponsible, immoderate, or rapid consumption, and will not imply alcohol enhances social or sexual success. Portman Group

Cookies, analytics and advertising
a) Any advertising or analytics cookies used for alcohol-related campaigns are controlled via our cookie banner and settings.
b) We will not use interest-based advertising to target under-18s.

Corporate gifting and business customers
a) Corporate orders containing alcohol must be for recipients aged 18 or over.
b) Where deliveries are made to workplaces, an adult must accept delivery and may be asked to show ID. -
Delivery carriers and safe service
a) Our delivery partners are instructed not to deliver alcohol to anyone who appears under 25 without ID, or to anyone who appears intoxicated.
b) Alcohol will not be left unattended, with children, or in unsecured locations. -
Staff and partner training

a) Where provided by the producer, we include alcohol by volume (ABV) and units information on product pages or inserts.

Social media and user-generated content
a) We moderate social content referencing alcohol and remove content that appears to encourage irresponsible consumption or appeals particularly to under-18s.

Working with marketing partners
We may use trusted partners to help manage our advertising and email activity. These partners act on our instructions and must follow UK data protection and advertising rules, including audience restrictions for alcohol content. See our Privacy Policy for details. -
