A brand that started in a London flat, survived a global pause button, and turned a love of tea into something quietly extraordinary.

Nuditea - Breakfast Tea

From a kitchen table to cups across the UK

Nuditea began in late 2019, born out of a London flat, a love of travel, and an obsession with those independent spaces that make a city feel alive. The original plan? A boutique tea space. Somewhere you could sit, slow down, and stay a while.

Then 2020 happened, the world changed, and like many small businesses, everything shifted.

With hospitality on hold for what became nearly three years, Nuditea adapted from a physical space to something more intimate and immediate: tea you could send, share, and experience anywhere. Blended by hand in their kitchen, small batches became friends, then customers, then a growing community discovering them online and at local events whenever doors briefly reopened.

What started as a handful of blends has since grown into something far bigger. Today, Nuditea is stocked in wellbeing stores, cafés, yoga studios and salons across the UK. A full rebrand in 2025 marked their most ambitious chapter yet, with award-winning blends, a matcha range, and a wholesale partnership with Diverse Fine Food that opened doors nationwide.

Five years in, and they’re only just getting started.

The idea that started it all

Behind Nuditea are Josh and Sophie, two people who found themselves constantly drawn to the same thing when travelling: independent cafés, creative spaces, places that made a neighbourhood feel like itself.

Not chains. Not noise. Just warmth, craft, and community.

They wanted to create something that captured that feeling: warmth, quality, and community in every cup.

When the café idea was overtaken by 2020’s reality, they didn’t abandon it. They reshaped it into something more flexible, more resilient, and arguably more personal. Blending, sourcing, designing and shipping from the UK, they created a way for that same café feeling to arrive through your letterbox instead.

Four pillars, one philosophy

Everything Nuditea does is anchored in four simple but uncompromising values.

1.       Quality and sourcing: Whole leaf tea, hand-blended in small batches, with complete control from packing to postage. Nothing leaves their hands without care.

2.       Intention and kindness: A belief that shopping small is not just a preference, but a choice that can genuinely shift how things are done.

3.       Mindfulness and process: Tea as a ritual. A pause. A small moment that deserves protecting in a busy day.

4.       Balance and mindful growth: Growth, but not at any cost. Always aligned with ethics, relationships and the people behind the product.

What they actually make (and why it matters)

Nuditea is a whole leaf tea specialist. That means no dust, no shortcuts, no compromise.

Their range includes:

  • Loose leaf teas and plastic-free tea bags
  • Matcha powder, cold infusions, and wellness blends
  • Classic staples like Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey
  • Origin speciality teas, oolongs and white teas
  • Seasonal limited editions

Every blend is crafted in small batches in the UK, with plastic-free, recyclable, or compostable packaging.

What really sets them apart is the combination of quality, ethics and accessibility. Nuditea brings speciality tea into everyday moments, not just save for the teapot at Christmas. They also organise their shop by mood, because choosing tea should feel intuitive, not intimidating.

Sourcing with intention, blending with care

Every tea starts far away, with carefully selected estates across Japan, China, India, and Sri Lanka. Organic cultivation, regenerative farming and fair pay are not optional extras. They are the baseline.

From there, everything is done in-house. Blended by hand, packed by hand, shipped by hand. Because it keeps quality intact and accountability close. Nothing is outsourced for the sake of scaling up quickly.

Awards, features and quiet “is this really happening” moments

For a brand that started in a kitchen, Nuditea has had more than a few surreal milestones.

Early features in Vogue, Tatler, Country Living and BBC Good Food set the tone. Then came Great Taste Awards, and a Gold win at the Farm Shop and Deli Product Awards 2026 for their Earl Grey on its very first entry.

Nuditea and IMP & MAKER: a perfect brew

Some collaborations feel obvious the moment you see them.

IMP & MAKER Signature Afternoon Tea Gift Hamper

For Nuditea and IMP & MAKER, it is a shared language: independent makers, thoughtful curation, and a belief that gifting should feel personal rather than performative.

“We've always believed that the brands you share space with say something about who you are. When we came across IMP & MAKER, it felt like a natural fit. There's a shared philosophy there: independent, intentional, quality-led, and genuinely thoughtful about curation. A hamper isn't just a collection of products, it's a small portrait of a moment you want to give someone. Tea is such a central part of those moments, whether it's a slow weekend morning, a catch-up with a friend, or the first cup after something worth celebrating. We think our blends bring that ritual quality to a hamper in a way that feels genuinely considered rather than an afterthought.”

Nuditea Breakfast Tea

That is exactly why we included Nuditea in our Afternoon Tea Hampers, with their Breakfast Tea as a central part of the experience. It’s not just a product inclusion; it is the moment everything else is built around. The pause. The pour. The proper sit-down. And when sent as a gift, it becomes part of someone else’s moment too. A thoughtful little ritual arriving at their door, ready to be unwrapped, brewed, and shared.

Supporting Buy Women Built

Nuditea’s story is one we recognise immediately, because it runs in parallel with our own.

Like IMP & MAKER, Nuditea began in a kitchen, built on a simple but powerful belief that small beginnings can grow into something far bigger when quality and intention lead the way. Josh and Sophie started with a shared vision, just as IMP & MAKER Founder Sarah Louise did: to create something thoughtful, beautifully made, and rooted in real care for the product and the people behind it.

What followed was not a straight line, but a period of adapting, rebuilding and refining during a time when the world looked very different. From early blends shared with friends, to a growing national presence, Nuditea has become part of a wider movement of independent brands proving that doing things properly still matters.

One thing we especially love is that their loyalty programme is called Tea Leaves, and their community are affectionately known as Nudists. Yes, really.

We are proud to work alongside Nuditea and other incredible founders who are reshaping the food and drink world through craft, integrity and brilliant ideas. IMP & MAKER will always champion brands that prioritise quality, independence and thoughtful growth.

Time for a cuppa?

There’s something about Nuditea that makes you want to slow down a little. To put the kettle on, take a breath and turn an everyday moment into something more intentional. That is exactly why we love working with them, and why their Breakfast Tea feels so at home in our Afternoon Tea Gift Hampers.

If you’ve enjoyed discovering their story, you can explore their full range of Nutitea blends and follow them on Instagram @nuditea to keep up to date with what they’re blending next.

So go on, put the kettle on. This one deserves a proper pause.
